blog 1: Why do teenagers feel the need to rebel against the rules or against other people?
I think teenagers rebel against rules because many of them are at that stage where they are going to become adults soon. Many of them think they are already mature enought to make their own decisions so they dont like when other people try to control them or enforce rules on them. They want to prove to people that they can do things by themselves and they dont need anyone telling them what to do.

I agree with this, Cara, yet it's funny because it brings up another argument as to what makes a person "mature." To some teens, being mature means making decisions on one's one, without parental intervening. To others, it means listening to one's parents because they respect their opinion and know they should have their best interest in mind.
ReplyDeleteWould you say Holden Caulfield acts 'mature' at this stage in the book? Why or why not? Think about your definition of maturity before your response and don't be afraid to use support from the book.
